Post Christmas Plans

Christmas was great!  I got to spend the entire day with my family.  I got great presents, including my brand new Black Gameness Feather Gi!!! Thanks Dave :-*  This is my first black gi, which I plan on doing BJJ in tonight! My knee is feeling a lot better!  I haven't rolled in almost 2 weeks now.  I am so excited to train tonight....light rolling of course.  Hopefully it will feel fine and I'll be able to get enough training in, in order to do CopaNova on the 8th.

January 1st, my diet starts again.  I need to be 147lbs for Pan-Ams and I don't want to have to cut any weight, or crash diet the week before to get to my weight.  So the diet and exercise start Saturday, January 1st, 2011!  I am actually pretty excited about it.

The 1st half of 2011 is going to be exciting with all the tournaments I'll be competing in!  I need to save money for travel expenses and entry fees (excluding GQ...FREE TOURNAMENTS FOR LIFE!)  Pam-Ams and Worlds are in California so those will be the two most expensive ones; the rest should be easy to finance.  I need to look for some sponsorships.....

I was thinking about asking Gameness for a sponsorship.  All I train and compete in is Gameness anyway so I am pretty much already promoting their product.  I love Gameness gis too, they fit me perfectly and I've never had any problems with them...so encouraging others to get them would be easy too because I believe in what I would be telling people.  Gameness is the only brand we sell here at the gym and we carry every style they have...and I personally own 2 platinum, 1 elite, and 1 feather.  I think I might just have to apply for that sponsorship......I'll talk to Dave first and see what he thinks.... :-D

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!  Now it's time to train!!!!!!

I've Been Lazy...

So over the Thanksgiving holiday (Thursday - Sunday) I didn't train or workout at all! Originally I thought this was a bad thing considering I have a tournament this weekend, but now I believe I got some much needed time off.

Thursday I completely pigged out for Thanksgiving. It was a great day overall and we got to take home LOTS of leftovers :-)

Friday I stayed home all day, in my pajamas, in my bed, and did absolutely nothing that involved much effort - it felt so good! Dave and I had planned on going shopping early for all the Black Friday deals, but we didn't wake up until after 11 so we decided to just stayed home and relax. And somehow ALL of the Thanksgiving leftovers vanished that day.... 0:-)

Saturday was pretty much the same as Friday up until the evening when I dragged Dave out shopping with me. I felt sort of bad because I was kinda just browsing around with nothing in particular on my mind to buy and Dave looked totally bored...so, we headed over to the tools department of Sears! And after that we were back off to our house to relax again!

Sunday was another all-day pajama day! I slept till 1:00pm. Totally awesome. I don't even think I looked at my phone that day.

Then it was back to reality on Monday, which I didn't mind too much. Waking up at 4:15am was easier than I thought it would be. Work wasn't all that bad. Jiu-Jitsu class was good, and I rolled pretty well. I even did Super Slow before heading home, which I am extremely sore from!

After a while you can get worn out and unmotivated from being in a place sooo much, even if it is a place you love. It is good to get away from things every once-in-a-while, even if it is just away to the privacy of your bedroom. So I must say, my long, lazy weekend was quit nice!

....but now I am so ready and happy to be training again! 4 days felt like forever!

Thanksgiving!!!

I love this time of year!  Some people don't get excited about all the family gatherings that tend to happen during the holiday season, but I love it!  I get to see my huge extended family tomorrow - all my aunts, uncles, siblings, sibling-in-laws (yes I just made that word up), nieces, nephews, cousins, family friends, and the list goes on!

Thanksgiving 2008 (minus a grandma, add a few new kids, a new boyfriend, and a new wife this year!)

Yesterday I bought a veggie platter, 4 pounds of shrimp cocktail, blue crab dip, and a pumpkin cheese cake to bring for the big feast!  My mom will be cooking the turkey amongst other things.  My aunt Jenn will be bringing her famous 10 pounds of mashed potatoes and watergate salad!  When I was a kid I used to eat an entire plate full of her watergate salad!  Everything else will be covered by everyone else that is coming.

I have a tradition of breaking the wishbone with my cousin Rachael, we have done this every year for as far back as I can remember.  This year will be different though :( because she is in Disney World for an internship.  I will just have to save it for when she comes back!

My brother David will also be missing this year.  He took a spur-of-the-moment trip to Miami with some of his friends!  Two of my cousins just had babies (like just days ago) so they will be missed this year too.

I can't wait until tomorrow! :-D
